Обновлено: Редактор Novotroitsk district
The district is located in the eastern-southern part of Kherson region. It is bounded by Nyzhni Sirohozy and Ivanivka districts in the north, by Heniches’k district in the east, by Kakhovka and Chaplynka districts in the west, by Krasnoperekops’k district of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in the south. The district is situated in the steppe zone. Soils here are chestnut together with alkali ones, which are suitable for development of agricultural production. In prolific years the district gathers as much grain as Baltic countries of the former Soviet Union together.
Winter wheat, sunflower, corn, vegetables, melons and watermelons, castor-oil plant, perennial grasses give'heavy crops here. Gardening, viticulture, cattle-breeding, sheep breeding and cotton-growing are promising directions of production. The leading sector in the district economics is the agricultural one. The Dnipro water from the Kakhovka Irrigation Main secures stable yields. It is a precondition of the district industrial potential. The processing industry predominates here. The Joint-Stock Company «Novotroyits’kyi Maslosyrzavod» («Novotriyits’k Creamery and Cheese-Making Factory») constitutes the basis of the processing industry. Its output is well-known beyond Ukraine. Hard cheeses «Novotroyits’kyi », «Hollands’kyi» («Dutch») under the trade mark «Nova Troya» («New Troy») were awarded golden medals at the exhibitions. Industrious people live and work on the Novotroyits’k land. They are both friendly with their guests and reliable in partnership.
