Novovoroncovka district

It is located in the outer northern right-bank part of Kherson region. It borders on Apostolivka district of Dnipropetrovs’k region in the north, on Verkhniy Rohachyk and Velyka Lepetykha districts in the east along the Dnipro riverbed, on Beryslav and Velykooleksandrivka districts in the south and on Vysokopillya district in the west.
Remains of the Scythian settlements, which were discovered near Novovorotsovka, are declarative of the fact that this district was peopled many years ago. The settlements of the VIII - IX centuries were found near the village of Dudchany as well. The territory of the district was a favorite place for the Cossacks' winter camps.

The Kateryna's milestone in the territory of Osokorivka Village Rada and a mill in the territory of the Joint-Stock Company «Novovorontsovs’ka Kharchosmakova Fabryka» («Novovorontsovka Food Flavoring Factory»), built way back at the beginning of the last century by the private owner Neustadt, preserved to our days.
The district is located in the steppe zone. It has black soils. In the earth's bosom deposits of clay, limestone, crushedstone, phosphate rock were detected here. The production is mostly agricultural. Winter wheat, sunflower, corn, castoroil plant give good crops in the district. The animal husbandry is represented by meat-dairy cattle-breeding, pig breeding, sheep breeding and poultry farming.
The Food Flavoring Factory and the private enterprise «Tavria» are occupied in production of food output.
